Art Saves Space.

As a non-profit art organization in New York, the main purpose of Stonecube Art Association (SCAA) is to support artists in New York through the establishment, operation, and sponsorship of art projects. Currently, SCAA's primary initiative is the "Art Saves Space" project.

SCAA was founded in New York in 2020 under the advocacy of artist Stone Chun Shi. In May 2023, Stone Chun Shi started the "Art Saves Space" project at 19 Howard Street in Lower Manhattan, New York. Using his resources, he transformed an abandoned and graffiti-filled two floors space into a suitable venue for art exhibitions, effectively saving the abandoned space through art. Inspired by this, Stone Chun Shi decided to become the initiator, organizer, and operator of this project through the establishment of SCAA. All funds donated by organizations and individuals will be used for the operation of the "Art Saves Space" art project.

In the heart of Manhattan, there are many vacant commercial spaces, some of which have suffered severe damage and vandalism due to long-term abandonment. At the same time, many artists in New York lack spaces to exhibit and sell their artwork. In light of this situation, SCAA aims to collaborate with these commercial spaces to obtain short-term usage rights and provide artists with exhibition venues to showcase and sell their artwork.

These exhibition venues take the form of pop-ups, providing SCAA with free exhibition spaces where they can organize artists to showcase their work. SCAA's approach is to provide artists with free space and encourage participating artists to clean and transform the space into a formal exhibition venue open to the public.

As a free venue for artists, SCAA does not charge any fees to the artists or take any commissions from the sale of artwork. Additionally, SCAA bears all the necessary cleaning costs for the spaces.

SCAA calls on all owners of vacant commercial spaces to join this project that supports artists in New York. They also encourage businesses and corporations willing to donate to this project to support the arts. SCAA will provide tax receipts in accordance with the laws of New York State for all donations exceeding $5,000.

In addition to monetary donations, SCAA encourages donations of materials and tools for indoor cleaning and refurbishment, indoor furniture and supplies, as well as art materials and tools.

SCAA calls on all artists interested in participating to sign up and expand this New York art project to various locations.

SCAA is willing to collaborate with any company or organization dedicated to helping artists to promote and implement the "Art saves the space" art project on a larger scale.

New York is a center for contemporary art, and SCAA hopes to help young artists pursue their artistic path, provide better livelihood options for struggling artists, give more artists the opportunity to exhibit their work through this project and make more people recognize the importance and necessity of art in our lives.
